Peripheral Witness is the first recorded Artifact in The Watchful Static series — a documentation of perceived presence without physical form.

Created during a moment of heightened sensory awareness, this piece reflects the instinctive human response to silence, darkness, and isolation. The mind recognizes patterns where none exist. It invents a watcher. Not because danger is real — but because vigilance is survival.

The form is incomplete by design. The eye dominates. The mouth is restrained. The figure does not act. It observes.

There is no entity here.
There is only the feeling that there could be one.

This Artifact explores the paradox of fear:
even when logic confirms safety, the nervous system remains unconvinced.

The Watchful Static does not harm.
It simply exists — just outside certainty.
